This mod aims to make loot in Borderlands 2 'better' in general. It'sessentially a cheat mod, intended for those BL2 players like myself whotend to play in Normal most of the time, dislike grinding, get bored easilyby the uninteresting and drab loot that typically gets dropped in-game, andwho often end up just resorting to Gibbed to be able to play around withsome better gear. The goal, personally, was to get the loot drops in-gameto a point where I never felt tempted to open up Gibbed.
The mod must be loaded into BLCMM, and nearly all of the mod can be toggledon or off inside BLCMM as you'd hope, on an item-by-item basis. Basicallyevery bullet point in the 'Overview' section is its own 'folder' once imported.See the Configuration section for the most obviousconfiguration areas.
NOTE: A few mods are known to do some weird things in conjunction withthis mod. See the 'Compatibility' section below. BL2 Reborn inparticular is known to cause crashes and other bad behavior, so definitelydo not use this with BL2 Reborn.
This mod must be imported into BLCMM using
File -> Import single mod .Simply choose the file BL2 Better Loot.blcm and have at it!
Previous versions of this mod had various options, including offline andstandalone variants, but these are no longer provided. BLCMM itself providesall that functionality very easily now. Even if you intend to use nothingbut this single mod, be sure to import into BLCMM and use the file that itsaves.
The previous 'Lootsplosion' and 'Reasonable' variants have been merged intothe single mod file, and you can now choose various aspects of the mod inseveral 'mutually exclusive' categories, meaning that you can only chooseone of the options in each. This way you can tailor the mod to what you wantto do a little bit more easily. See the Configuration sectionfor more detail.
(Note that various behaviors in here can be changed by selecting from variousoptions in the mod file itself.)
Specifically, this mod does the following:
Configuration
There are a few categories in the mod which are explicitly intended to beuser-changeable:
UCP
This mod should be fully compatible with UCP 4.1. It should also probably runfine without, though it's received less testing that way.
BL2 RebornBetter With Mods Wooden Gearbox
This mod is not compatible with BL2 Reborn. There are known crashes andother sorts of instability when trying to use the two together. Avoid usingthe two at the same time!
BL2 Cold Dead Hands
These two mods actually work real well together. Cold Dead Hands does overridea lot of what Better Loot does, so huge areas of this mod don't actually doanything when CDH is active, but CDH only touches weapons+shields. So if youuse both together, you'll be able to get the Better Loot benefits for COMs,Grenades, Relics, etc. I tend to use both of them together, myself. Just makesure to have Cold Dead Hands after Better Loot in your mod list, so thatit overrides things properly.
Shadowevil's 'VaultHunter' mod
This mod and Shadowevil's 'VaultHunter' mod, which creates a Legendary-levelVault Hunter's Relic, don't play very well together, especially with Raid bossdrops. The combination has been known to sometimes crash Borderlands afterdefeating the Ancient Dragons, in fact, and legendary drops will be far morefrequent than is useful.
I'm pretty sure that this mod makes the vanilla game's 'Vault Hunter'sRelic' completely useless, but if you're using this mod, you certainlywon't miss it.
Hemaxhu's 'More Chubbies' mod
Hemaxhu's 'More Chubbies' mod isn't incompatible with this one, but youwill almost certainly find it to be quite excessive if Chubbies are spawningmore frequently. The best thing to do if using More Chubbies is probably todisable this mod's Chubby buffs, at least partially. There are two togglesyou can use in this mod:
SirUmnei's 'COM Overhaul Pack' (and possibly other mods which touch COMs)
The COM Overhaul Pack, in conjunction with this mod, will end up creatingitems which will get deleted by Borderlands after you save/quit. You shouldbe able to avoid this by turning off this mod's
Base Mod Configuration -> Loot Pool Tweaks -> Force Alignment COMs Blue And Higher .
Other Mods
Obviously this mod will conflict with other mods which play with the samevariables. I know that Hemaxhu's 'Better White Chests' would conflict withthis, for instance, and possibly other mods in Hemaxhu's 'Chest Mods'folder. FromDarkHell's collection in the 'Loot Drops' folder likewise willprobably conflict.
Presentation maker software creator. There's some gear which I felt shouldn't be in the pools at all. I amquite willing to hear counterarguments; my mind could probably be prettyeasily persuaded otherwise if someone feels strongly about it.
A handful of containers will only ever drop common-level gear:
There's also a few drop pools / containers / etc which I've purposefullyleft alone:
Some other stuff not done:
There's a few things which I'd considered adding to this mod, but were alreadywell-covered in other mods, so instead I'll just mention them here.
It's perhaps worth mentioning that while this mod does a great job in mostof the game (IMO), in Normal mode at least, the amount of loot can getpretty absurd when you're in any area which can generate a lot of Badassesor the like. The Hammerlock and Tiny Tina DLCs, in particular, were alreadyvery generous with loot, and this mod steers them into ridiculousness. Thelast few stages of Murderlin's Magic Slaughter end up dropping enough lootto cause some noticeble FPS hits on my system in fact:
Digistruct Peak is a little ridiculous as well, on account of all the bossesand Badasses.
(This section is only relevant for someone looking to edit the mod in thesame way I do, or just someone curious about my mod construction techniques. If you're just looking to run the mod, see the 'Usage' section above. Themod can, of course, be edited directly in BLCMM as well, once it'sbeen imported.)
I generate this mod using a Python script named
generate-mod.py , whichenables me to do things like set the rarity drop levels from a singlelocation at the top of the file, and have it apply to a number of differentobjects throughout the game.
The generation script makes use of
modprocessor.py from the parent directory. You'd need to copy (or symlink, if you're on Mac or Linux) modprocessor.py into this directory in order to run the script.
I've taken various ideas and snippets from a few other mods:
I'd also like to thank the fine folks in Shadow's Evil Hideout #bl-moddingDiscord channel for putting up with all my noobish questions when I was first gettingstarted with BL2 modding.
The
generate-source.py script itself is licensed under the3-clause BSD license, which should be permissive enough to do just about whatever with.
The mod itself is licensed underPublic Domain / CC0 1.0 Universal.

Hi @joskuijpers,
Thanks for the offer. I decided to make a much easier gearbox simulation as part of FS19_KeyboardSteer. Maybe I should rename this mod now. This simplified gearbox has only 12 real gears. In the 4x4 configuration the same gears might appear in two different groups.
Converting GearboxAddon would mean a lot of work. I am not sure if it was a good idea to manipulate the shop items to add the transmission configuration. That cause several problems between client and server. So the question is how to load and assign gearbox configurations to particular vehicles. This would already result into a complete re-implementation of gearboxMogli:initFromXml (2370 lines of code).
Once this is solved the next thing is the re-implementation of user inputs lines 3921-4498. Most parts of gearboxMogliMotor.lua are not usable anymore because the handling of torque curve etc. is done directly inside of the engine (controlVehicle). The same for the manipulation of sound.
And finally, I do not believe that a converted GearboxAddon in FS19 would like like the FS17 version. I even assume that 80% of the people using GearboxAddon in FS17 do not really know what kind of realism I tried to achieve with GearboxAddon. I exchanged the torque curves because 99% of the vehicles use the standard torque curve. But having more maximum power than rated power is quite new. Even the Deutz Agrostart 6.61 did not have that. I calculated the fuel consumption based on usedTorque and specific fuel consumption in g/kWh. I looked up gear ratios and so on.
For the transmission in FS19_KeyboardSteer I really concentrated on building a generic gearbox for FS19. So I adjusted the gear ratios to the typical speeds in FS19. These are not really realistic so why should one have realistic gear ratios but than driving at 10 km/h with a 6m cultivator instead of 8 km/h with a 3m cultivator IRL? The transmission in FS19_KeyboardSteer uses not even 10% of the code of GearboxAddon and I implemented it mainly over the last weekend.
But nevertheless, thanks for the offer. I still feel the time for GearboxAddon is over. Gta v pc download full game.
